Vehicle Affidavit – High Mileage

Kentucky vehicle taxes are based on the value of the vehicle on January 1. Because every person’s vehicle is different and is used differently Kentucky uses the NADA value as the standard for every vehicle value. The NADA estimates every vehicle value based on the particular vehicle and mileage. If your vehicle has more than the NADA estimated mileage your vehicle value may be less than the NADA value and, thus, qualify for a tax reduction.

Documentation is required. We require a document from a professional service like an oil change or vehicle maintenance that has the VIN and mileage. This form will allow you to take a photo of the document if you are using a tablet or phone equipped with a camera.

Example: NADA estimates your 2010 Ford F-150 should have about 125,000 miles and is valued at $15,000. If your 2010 F-150 has 175,000 you likely qualify for a tax discount.

If you believe your vehicle has high mileage complete the form below. PVA office staff will research your vehicle to determine if you qualify for a tax reduction.
